Applications are now being accepted for children’s charities in Southeastern Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE (Oct. 4, 2023) – Potawatomi Casino Hotel Milwaukee has announced Dec. 14, 2023, as the date when its’ signature charity, Heart of Canal Street, will give $500,000 to 20 children’s charities located throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
“In 1994 we launched what is now known as Heart of Canal Street, and for the last 29 years, we’ve given over $20 million to children’s charities throughout Southeastern Wisconsin,” said Dominic Ortiz, CEO of Potawatomi Casino Hotel Milwaukee. “Every year our employees anticipate this event as much as the charities do, and we love coming together to make a difference in children’s lives as well as the communities they live in.”
The funds for Heart of Canal Street are raised primarily through the Canal Street bingo game, which guests can play now through December 14. A total of 20 children’s charities will randomly be selected and equally split the $500,000. Last year, over 135 charities submitted applications and were present at the event to see if they would be a lucky winner. Charities can register annually, but winners from the previous year cannot reapply.
To learn more information, including guidelines, and to submit applications, interested charities can visit paysbig.com/heart. All applications must be completed by Friday, Nov. 14, 2023.
