Pop, R&B, disco, electronic, rock, dance, country, funk, soul, bebop, blues—a diverse array of music genres you don’t often see used to describe one artist. Yet, this unique musical combination suits The Pointer Sisters, who began their vocal training singing gospel in their father’s Oakland, California church. The Sisters’ interests quickly shifted to rock and blues, and they made their distinctive debut singing original jazz and bebop flavored songs, dressed in 1940s outfits.

The Sisters released their self-titled debut album in 1973, featuring the single “Yes We Can, Can” and rose to mainstream success during 1980s with Top 40 hits “He’s So Shy,” “Jump (For My Love),” “I’m So Excited,” and “Neutron Dance.” The birth of MTV contributed to The Pointer Sisters’ commercial success allowing them to share their style visually, expand their audience and become one of the first African American groups in heavy rotation during the early video era.

With a career that’s spanned three decades, earning them Grammy® and American Music Awards®, Ruth and Anita Pointer still have the pizazz that made us get up and dance at the height of their fame—and they’re not stopping any time soon. Even after the passing of their sister June, they’ve continued to perform around the world, joined by Ruth’s granddaughter, Sadako Johnson.

All guests must be at least 21 years old to enter Theater, or to watch shows at Bar 360 or The Fire Pit's side bar. All tickets are sold with a no return or exchange policy. All schedules/times are subject to change at any time without notice.
